I've been working on a track for a little while and wanted to see if I could render down a pretty featured drum pattern into a sliced pattern and then add some spice with per-slice effects. Thanks to using NTH, THO on the Phrase and effects (relative and absolute) as well as REP and HOP on the Instrument Table I can get a lot of variety.
On the Phrase view I'm using NTH to conditionally fire THO (Table Hop) effects. Those THO effects will move the beginning row in the Instrument Table as desired. The Instrument Table is advancing on each Tick, meaning it's moving at a decent rate through the table. Or it would be, if I wasn't using HOP commands to kind of lock it into place on certain Rows.
Sometimes those rows contain absolute effects (ie: the Delay amount for the instrument) and sometimes the rows contain a relative effect (ie: Filter Cutoff) followed by a REP (Repeat) effect - which then would cause (in the case of the Cutoff) the frequency to increment / decrement each Tick according to the amount of the increment / decrement. Finally there would be a HOP command that would send the index of the table back to the REP command - locking it in place.
I've also decided that maybe a demonstration with verbal explanation would be a better way to learn so for this trick I've recorded a narration beforehand and then a demonstration.
In the m8 Bundle below, Track 7 is a demonstration of "LFO Stop Grabber" and Track 8 is a demonstration of this trick.
