"Enter the Void" is a monthly series organized by Xochi de la Luna where every month the vibe and line-up changes. The vibe of this lineup was kind of "doom / drone / electronics". I was fortunate to get invited to perform as a result of my performance in January at "Drone Not Drones" at the Cedar Cultural Center on January 26th, 2025.
My goal for this performance was to do as much as possible with as little gear as possible. This meant really leaning into the my pair of Dirtywave m8's - which are the current workhorses of my compositions.
The gear for this performance was:
- Dirtywave m8 - loaded with an adjusted version of the performance I did at "Drone Not Drones" in January.
- Dirtywave m8 - loaded with a new composition.
- Bastl Bestie - used to process the two Dirtywave m8's.
- 1010 Music - Lemondrop - used for processing the output of the Bestie.
- Zoom L8 (not pictured) - final mix control as well as playback of continuous drone recordings.
- Faderfox EC4 - used to control various parameters of the Lemondrop.
All of this fit into two cases that were very easy to transport and quick to setup.
